After purchasing the Kato PRR GG1 and Broadway Limited 10-car set (read here), I found myself really wanting the option add-on Santa Fe car they released to compliment the Broadway Limited consist. Just a quick post, more for me than most of my readers.
My wife and I went to dinner this evening at her aunt and uncle’s house. Her uncle Hue models the Pennsy in O gauge — with a really impressively sized layout for O — but he used to do N scale.
Surprisingly, Hue had a Hooker Chemical tank car waiting for me next to my dinner plate knowing that I model N scale. He generously gave me this neat little tank car and it will be a nice addition to my roster. Thanks, Uncle Hue!

After posting the photos of the N scale Kato GG1, I remembered I had this photo of me standing in front of the prototype at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. Surprisingly, it’s the same road number as the Kato model. Nice!
I have several other photos of the prototype including some close-up details and some looking in through the windows. I don’t recall where I’ve saved them — probably on my other computer — but I’ll post them as soon as I can find them.
